越人歌

越人歌

楚鄂君子脩者，乘青翰之舟，張翠羽之蓋，榜栧。越人悅之，櫂檝而越歌以感，鄂君歡然，舉繡被而覆之。其辭曰：

今夕何夕兮　　搴舟中流

今日何日兮　　得與王子同舟

蒙羞被好兮　　不訾詬恥

心幾頑而不絕兮　　得知王子

山有木兮木有枝　　心悅君兮君不知

《越人歌》, 相传为第一首译诗，出于《说苑》, 后记载于《玉台新咏》，相传记载了一了一美好动人的故事：春秋楚国一公子鄂君子皙泛舟河中，打桨的越女爱慕他，用越语唱了一首歌，鄂君请人用楚语译出，就是这一首美丽的情诗：鄂君在听懂了这首歌，明白了越女的心之后，就微笑着把她带回去了。但诗原本的气氛却是寂寞悲怆的，就如谭盾为此歌配乐所表达的一样。越女摆船，与王子同舟，蒙羞与她的爱意，爱慕王子却无法将她的心情传达。“山有木兮木有枝，心悦君兮君不知” 不正是表达了这种无奈，这种悲哀吗？

Translation：

Song of the Yue
What evening is this evening?
Pulling my ferry in the middle of the river--
What day is today?
How fortunate! the prince is with me on the ferry.
Feeling shy of my passion,
I disregarded my shame.
My stubborn heart beats without end
To have the prince to love.
Mountains have their woods as woods have their twigs
How I love you! But my love you shall never know!
